With my wife, Tricia and my children, Hunter and Gwyneth Rose, I live less than a mile from the Atlantic Ocean, where we spend as much time as we can playing in the sand and salt water. We love to travel, and we are always up for a new adventure!

With a camera in my hand, the beaches between Corolla and Ocracoke, NC have been home for most of my life.  I tried moving away once, but I was only gone for two years before the love of these barrier islands brought me back again.  Nothing brings me to life like the smell of the salt air and the feel of the sand between my toes, and I am convinced I’ll never live anywhere else.

My passion for photography began as a young teenager shooting landscapes, particularly the incredible sunsets over the Albemarle Sound, progressing over the years to become more skilled at capturing the life and love of my friends and family. Using my love of the local beaches and my experience with the camera, this skill has evolved into a passion for candid photography. As Nathan Lawrenson Photography, I specialize in year-round, family, beach portraits.
